The International Printing Museum is hosting a hands-on educational event focused on book crafts this March in Carson.
The event will offer girls aged 10 to 18 a chance to explore traditional and modern printing techniques. Participants will rotate through eight interactive stations where they will learn about book production throughout history, experiment with different binding methods, and create printed materials using antique equipment.
Attendees will engage in activities such as hand-making paper from pulp, marbling designs, printing keepsakes on a letterpress, and screen-printing T-Shirts. Industry professionals and educators will provide demonstrations and instruction throughout the day.
The registration cost is $50 plus a $5.20 fee. This cost will cover all activities except t-shirt printing. Those wishing to participate in screen-printing should bring a pale-colored cotton shirt or buy one for $10 at the museum. A packed lunch is required. Interested individuals can purchase tickets through the Eventbrite listing.
Parents or troop leaders should register participants in advance. The event is not accessible to the general populace.
Attendees should note that in order to receive a refund, requests must be made no less than 14 days ahead of the event.
