A Carson museum that explores the history of printing and the written word is set to celebrate Women’s History Month by offering a special hands-on workshop.
The attendees in the session will be creating wood-type Posters, which they can display at home or in another location or give to someone special. They will have access to materials in its historic collection of this style of signage, and no previous experience is needed.
Everyone who Signs up for the day will receive the materials they need for the project, as well as full instruction. They will hand set the wood type, lock the form onto the press, and learn how to use a Vandercook cylinder to produce their pieces. Attendees are advised to wear clothes they do not mind getting ink on. Tickets start at $161, his amount includes fees and taxes, and they may be purchased now.
