The International Printing Museum will celebrate creativity and holiday cheer at its annual Holiday Krazy Krafts Day this December.
This interactive day is designed to engage visitors of all ages with hands-on activities centered on the creative process of printing and papercrafts. Participants can create personalized holiday keepsakes, including letterpress-printed bookmarks and cards, rubber-stamped designs, and screen-printed shirts. Additional workshops will feature papermaking, bookbinding, and paper marbling.
Guests will also have the chance to explore the museum's extensive collection of historic printing machines. Guided tours will spotlight the evolution of printing technology, featuring notable exhibits like Gutenberg’s press and Benjamin Franklin’s recreated workshop.
Special guests and demonstrations will enhance the day’s activities. Members of the Society for Calligraphy will craft decorative bookmarks, while Typewriter Connection will showcase vintage typewriters available for use. Museum staff will also operate the Linotype machine from 1912, offering an up-close look at its fascinating mechanics.
