Carson goes to the dogs

Carson’s Victoria Regional Community Park Pool hosted some very unusual swimmers recently, when the Pooches in the Pool event took place there. The Pooches in question were dogs from throughout Los Angeles County, who got to romp in public pools.

The swim, which took place on Labor Day, was hosted by two Los Angeles County departments Animal Care and Control, and Parks and Recreation. The event gave everyone a chance to cool off, and take a break from what has been an unusually hot summer. Fun occasions like this can be even more colorful if organizers use banner printing to help decorate the venues, since today’s Banners are sturdy and perfect for outdoor use.

The fun started at 5:00 pm, and from then until 6:00 pm, only smaller dogs were allowed into the pool, so they got to play in the water without larger dogs going after them. The final hour of the event gave the bigger breeds such as huskies and pit bulls a chance to play with dogs their own size. Dogs of all breeds and sizes were invited to take part, but their owners had to show current vaccination and licensing documents before the pooches could take the plunge.

The dogs’ owners, unfortunately, were not allowed to romp along with them, although perhaps the dogs were glad to get a break from their people as well.
