It is almost time to tee off in a Carson area golf tournament, offering fun and camaraderie for all the players.
The Rio Hondo Golf Club, which can be found in Downey, will be the venue for the Downey Police and Fire Foundation’s 2023 Golf Tournament. It will offer lots of skill-testing competitions, with one of the top prizes being a hole-in-one contest where the winner may receive a new car.
The plans for the day open with check-in, and the registration fee for individual golfers is $155 each if they sign up before May 22. Team registrations are also available. The play will open with a shotgun start, and at the conclusion of the tourney, there will be a dinner and an awards banquet to toast the players and the cause.
To thank the golfers for their support, a raffle will take place, with the winner slated to receive an assortment of Corporate Gifts. A silent auction is also in the works, and a sponsorship program has been set up for anyone who would like to go the extra mile in support of the cause.
This day of fun in the sun at a local course will see Carson golfers tee off at 10:30 am on June 26. The check-in kiosk will open at 8:30 am.
