Xavier Becerra, the Attorney General of California, will be the Featured Speaker at the Presidential Distinguished Lecture Series at California State University Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) in Carson.
The Attorney General will talk about California's efforts to protect environmental regulations that are important to the wellbeing and health of residents. Becerra took office in 2017, and since then has fought to enact laws that protect the environment.
This lecture and others have the theme of “Fighting for a Sustainable Future and Healthy Communities.” The series of talks marks the inauguration of Thomas A. Parham as CSUDH's 11th president. Parham created the lectures, which are held each semester, to reach out to both students and the community to talk about important social issues. Events like this can be enhanced if organizers use flyer printing to create informative handouts about the matters under discussion.
President Parham will join Attorney General Becerra for a question and answer session, followed by a panel discussion with industry leaders in the area of legal and moral responsibility of keeping communities safe from environmental dangers.
The lecture is scheduled for 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm this Thursday, February 7, and Becerra's talk will be from 4.00 pm until 5.00 pm. The university is on Victoria Street, and the lecture is in the Grand Ballroom of the Loker Student Union. The lecture is free, but participants must register by visiting Eventbrite.
