For the 26th year, KROQ 106.7/FM, a Los Angeles radio station, is hosting its Weenie Roast, and has just announced the artists' lineup for the event.
Many of the artists are familiar to station listeners, including Mike Shinoda of the band Linkin Park; Rise Against; Panic! at the Disco; and Blink-182. Bands from Orange County include the Cold War Kids and Dirty Heads, while Los Angeles artists Bishop Briggs and Awolnation are also on the roster.
Rockers who are new to KROQ will appear on smaller stages. Bands here include Nothing But Thieves, Manchester Orchestra, and The War on Drugs. Also appearing on these stages are Alice Merton, a singer-songwriter whose ‘No Roots’ hit No. 1 in France. Also along for the fun are Mt. Joy, and James Bay.
The Weenie Roast was held at Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre for many years, but the venue was demolished in 2016, forcing the station to find a new location for the event. Irvine's FivePoint Amphitheatre was not large enough, so last year it moved to Carson, where it will take place again this year.
The fun takes place at the StubHub Center on Saturday, May 12. The festival lasts all day, and tickets are on sale now at AXS.com, with proceeds to support the Surfrider Foundation and Heal the Bay.
Events like this can be enhanced if organizers create a list of artists by working with a flyer printing company.
