The Tucson Bird and Wildlife Festival will be hosting a variety of family friendly activities at its upcoming nature expo to be held at the Arizona RiverPark Inn.
The weekend kicks with a presentation about living with desert wildlife by the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum. The habits and ecological roles of snakes, bats, tarantulas, coyotes, and other creatures will be discussed, and live animals will be along for the show.
Wildcat neighbors will take the stage for the afternoon, with a talk and activity center presented by Pat Monahan and Doris Evans. Also during the afternoon will be nest box building activities for children, housing warblers and ash-throated flycatchers.
There will be a display of live birds and family friendly talks on desert adaptations and wildcat neighbors throughout the day on Saturday. Sunday morning begins with Rick Wright leading a bird outing for kids at Sweetwater Wetlands. Parents are also welcome to attend.
This will be followed by another nature expo with more family friendly talks on rattlesnakes and how to rescue, rehabilitate, and release injured wild animals back into their natural habitats.
The Tucson Bird and Wildlife Festival will be this Saturday, August 15 and Sunday, August 16. A promotional poster, perhaps created by a local poster printing company, carries detailed information about all the activities, their times, and other registration information.
