Western Week returns to Old Town
Western Week will be back in Old Town Scottsdale for another year next week.
Joan Fudala, Scottsdale’s Community historian, will be giving a free photo-rich presentation called “Marching Through Six Decades of Parada Del Sol” in the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust Theater/Auditorium, 3830 N. Marshal Way. This will be on Thursday, February 2nd from 6:00pm to 7:00pm.
That same evening, from 6:30pm to 9:00pm, Scottsdale Arts District will present a Gold Palette Artwalk. Gallery hours will be extended, and there will be special Western-themed activities such live music, entertainment, and small bites or wine tastings. The Artwalk will take place on Main Street between Goldwater Boulevard and Scottsdale Road, and on Marshall Way between 5th Avenue and north of Indian School Road.
The 65th Annual Hashknife Pony Express Arrival is scheduled for Friday, February 3rd at noon at the Museum of the West steps. From 11:00am to 1:00pm, the venue will have bands, line dancers, Native American royalty American hoop dancers, food trucks, and activities for the children. Pony Express enthusiasts may want to check the website to see if the event organizers have finished their 2023 Hashknife Pony Express poster printing yet.
Finally, on Saturday, February 4th, the 69th Annual Parada Del Sol Historic Parade and Trail’s End Festival will take place. The route will begin at Drinkwater Boulevard, go down Scottsdale Road and end at the intersection of Indian School Road and Brown Avenue. The festival will be in Historic Old Town.
