What's Happening in Scottsdale, AZ…

Still time to sign up for Tour De Scottsdale

Scottsdale cyclists can still join in the Tour De Scottsdale this year, as the event has gone online.

Along with the usual 70- and 30-mile rides, this year’s event will include a 5-mile family fit ride and a 15-mile course.

All rides will be virtual. That means all riders will choose their own times and locations, and ride the distances then upload their times and pictures on Race Roster the event’s website. Official courses through and around Scottsdale, and around the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy, are available.

Registration for the 30-mile ride will be $100 for individuals and $15 more for tandems, and $140 for individual plus $25 for tandems for the 70-mile ride. The 5-mile Family Fun Ride will cost $30 and only one family member needs to register. The 15-mile ride will cost $35 per individual.

Those riders opting for the official 70-mile course can expect a long ascent while travelling the first 25 miles. They will also encounter sweeping hills, steep climbs, and roundabouts, adding up to a challenging route.

Registration will be done online at the Tour de Scottsdale website. Each registrant will receive a commemorative medal with the event logo design especially created for each distance, as well as virtual goodie bags and other perks, not to mention bragging rights.

All proceeds will benefit the MacDowell Sonoran Conservancy.

The 2020 Virtual Tour de Scottsdale will start Monday, October 12 and riders need to complete their distances and upload their results before Sunday, October 18.
