What's Happening in Scottsdale, AZ…

Scottsdale to host mega community event

For the 63rd time, Scottsdale will be invited to an event where everyone can enjoy a parade and a festival all in one day.

Parada del Sol will soon once again be presenting its parade and Trail’s End celebration. The event organizers advise everyone to grab lawn chairs, family, and friends and arrive in Western attire.

These tandem events usually draw more than 30,000 guests to this celebration of the area history, and feature bands, school groups, and many types of music entertainment. The day also offers shoppers an opportunity to find bargains in the local shops and at the festival merchandise vendors’ booths.

Known as the ‘World’s Largest Horsedrawn Parades’, this year’s will have more than 150 entries. This year the parade will also include antique vehicle entries and food vendors will advertise their businesses by participating in the parade then selling their wares at the festival afterwards.

The Trail’s End Festival will feature two cultural-themed villages. They will be the Hispanic Village and the Native American Village. The Western Activities stage and a Kids’ Area, with its pony rides and games, will certainly keep the children busy. The City of Scottsdale and the Parada del Sol association will probably want to get some pictures for next year's brochure printing.

The event is scheduled for Downtown Scottsdale, February 13. The parade will step off at 10:00 am and go until 12:00 noon. Right after the parade, the festival will begin and continue until 5:00 pm.
