Scottsdale stays fit with two events
Two events coming in a few weeks will help adults take a good look at their health regimens and for all to enjoy a 5k Community fun run.
Local health enthusiasts are invited to attend Back to Basics: How to Be a Healthy Human here in Scottsdale at the end of January.
The event will be a one-day eight-hour immersive workshop helping attendees examine ways to take charge of their health, learn sustainable living skills, explore fermentation, and gut health, and connect with real food nutrition.
Some classes will include the ancient art of fermenting vegetables like cauliflower and broccoli, raising chickens, nurturing gut microbiome, self-sustaining on a budget, hearing about our local current food system and sustainable agriculture from area farmers. Simple solutions will discuss how to live a sustainable and healthy life.
Tickets are $99. Back to the Basics will take place at Gainey Village Health Club and Spa, 7477 E Doubletree Ranch Road, January 28th from 11:00 am to 5:30 pm.
The whole community is also invited to attend the PVSchools 5k Community Fun Run.
Registration is $10 for adults, $5 for children from ages 11-19, and younger children may run for free. Early registrants will receive t shirts sporting this year’s event graphic design.
Check-in at Horizon High School, 5601 E Greenway Road, will be from 7:30 am to 8:30 am. The Kids Dash will begin at 8:45 am. The run begins at 9:05 am, and the awards will be announced at 10:05 am.
