Scottsdale rolls up for the circus
The Ell Zaribah Shrine Circus 2016 will be coming to Scottsdale early next month.
Adult admission will be $18 and various merchants around town are distributing coupons for free kids’ tickets. In fact, kids under 12 can get free tickets online, although they must be accompanied by an adult.
Seven performances are slated for Scottsdale and all will have the standard jugglers and clowns. Those who arrive early can get their faces painted, receive balloon animals, ride ponies and elephants, and meet the clowns. Pictures taken with the clowns could make interesting subjects for future poster printing. One lucky boy and girl will win a bicycle at each performance.
This year, the circus is coming to Scottsdale from Las Vegas. The Jody Jordan Circus is a traveling circus that brings Adam Burck (a fourth generation performer) and his tigers, Karen Noucke and her ponies, and the Torreblanda Clowns to towns and cities throughout the U.S.
The circus will be performing from Friday, September 9 through Sunday, September 11 at the Equidome at West World, 16601 North Pima Road here in Scottsdale. Show times will be 6:30 pm all three nights, and 11:00 am and 3:00 pm performances on Saturday and Sunday. Adult tickets will be available at the gate one hour before each performance. The 3:00 pm show on Saturday will include the Grand March-In.
