Scottsdale hosts annual jazz event
Scottsdale Jazz Festival will be returning at the end of the month.
To get proceedings started, the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa at 6902 East Greenway Parkway will host a Scottsdale Jazz Festival Premiere Party - Kierland After Dark on Friday, April 29. Guests will be treated to music, food prepared by chef Chris Masco and drinks from its Scotch Library and Napa Valley wines.
Performances will be provided by Nayo Jones Experience, Jaleo Cuban band, The Sugar Thieves, Neamen Lyles, Fed Bowswell Jr. And Doc Jones. Tickets run $125. The party will take place from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
Performing from 8:30 pm to 10:00 pm, Richard Elliot and Rick Braun will be the headliners for the 11th Annual Scottsdale Jazz Festival.
Opening the event will be trumpet player Jesse McGuire playing the National Anthem, followed by Molina 32nd Street All-Star Youth Jazz Band playing from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm; Jaleo Latin Music from 3:45 pm to 4:30 pm; and Cold Shott & the Hurricane Horns from 4:45 pm to 5:45 pm.
The evening continues at 6:00 pm when Carlos Rivas & Si Orquesta Mexsal take to the stage until 7:00 pm, and The Nayo Jones Experience will perform from 7:15 pm to 8:15 pm.
