What's Happening in Scottsdale, AZ…

Scottsdale holds trio of golf days

Scottsdale golf clubs will be holding three golf events in August and September.

One will be the Arizona Amateur Championship, another will be an amateur tournament, and the last will be a Charity Golf Tournament for Arizona breast cancer victims.

The Arizona Amateur Championship will host a qualifying field of 156 players at the Desert Mountain Golf Club, 1033 E Rockaway Hills Drive. The event will take place from August 8 through 13.

The Annual My Hope Bag Golf Tournament Fundraiser will take place in early September. Registration will be $200 per player and will include 28 holes of golf, a cart, continental breakfast, and goodie bags. A lunch and silent auction will take place after play.

Large companies often give tickets to events such as this as corporate gifts to their high-end clientele, or to reward their employees.

Check-in will begin at 6:00 am with a shotgun start at 7:30 am. The format will be a four-person scramble.

My Hope Bag Golf tournament has been scheduled for Friday, September 16 at Talking Stick Golf Course, 9998 Talking Stick Way.

Finally, Phoenix City Tour will hold one of its nationwide amateur golf tournaments at Camelback Golf Club, 7847 North Mockingbird Lane on Saturday, September 10 beginning at 8:00 am. Teams of four to six players can choose either scramble or best ball formats to accommodate all ability levels. General admission will be free.
