Scottsdale holds 104th amateur golf tournament

The 104th Southwestern Amateur golf tournament is scheduled for the middle of June. The event is hosted by the Southwestern Golf Association, the Boot campaign and the Junior Golf Association of Arizona.

Over 85 amateur golfers have been put on the list of participants. 72 holes of golf per player will be done over a four-day period. The top 25 finishers go directly to the 2020 tournament. The top 15 finishers will receive merchandise prizes.

The tournament will take place on the Desert Mountain Golf Club’s 7,019-yard Cochise Course. The signature holes are the par-5 fifteenth and par-3 seventh. The course has rolling fairways surrounded by desert rock outcropping and water. These two holes have double greens on a beautiful island.

Spectators can get in free and are invited to watch their favorite players. They are instructed to remain in the rough areas or on the cart paths. They are to keep noise at a minimum and remain out of the teeing grounds, fairways areas, bunkers and putting greens. To keep the noise down spectators at events such as this get some small banner printing done to encourage their favorite golfers.

The 104th Annual Southwestern Amateur will be June 12th through June 15th at the Desert Mountain Club 37700 N. Desert Mountain Parkway. Play will start at 7:30 am and 9:40 am on each day.
