Scottsdale heads for corn on the cob

The El Zaribah Shriners Chapter 1896 will be holding their annual Cornfest Arts & Craft Show in late August. Over 2,500 guests are expected over the two days.

August is corn harvesting season around here and fresh ears will be available for purchase at $10 for a baker’s dozen and $5 per half dozen. Fresh corn on the cob will also be available when guests buy food tickets. The $10 food tickets will also include hot dogs, beans and burgers.

Over 60 artisans will be onsite selling their original creations and talking with passers by. Guests that go to events such as this like to garner artists’ and craft vendor’s business cards so they can get in touch with the vendors for custom work in the future or view their later works.

Scottsdale kids will get the chance to meet clowns, go home with balloon animals and get their faces painted. Food vendors will also be on the grounds selling summer treats.

Tickets will be $10 for adults and $6 for children under 8 years old.

Cornfest Arts and Crafts Show will be at the air-conditioned El Zaribah Shrine Auditorium, 552 North 40th Street Phoenix Saturday, August 24th and Sunday, July 25th. Saturday’s hours will be 9:00 am until 3:00 pm, and Sunday’s will be 10:00 am until 3:00 pm.
