Scottsdale goes to free canine event
Scottsdale pooches and their humans are invited to attend Pup Festival, an annual free dog event, coming toward the end of June.
Dog races will begin at noon and contests will begin at 2:00 pm. Contest categories will include Sweetest Rescue, Cutest Senior Dog, Best Weird Trick, Best Short Trick, Biggest and Smallest Dog, and Best Dad Bod. Both race and contest winners will receive prizes.
Proud dog owners often take pictures of their pups and their awards to local print shops to be added to family calendars and newsletters.
Other activities will include an agility course, nail trims, bone bar, pup cups, and professional photo opportunities. Dogs are invited to enjoy the Dog Gym Runbuddy Mobile (an air-conditioned fitness unit that provides dogs with three training stages) and a SwiftPaws Lure Course, where pulleys, stakes, and flags provide interactive play. Corgi Club Colton will be bringing a special guest.
Vendors will be selling their goods and services, both pet-related and otherwise, and many will offer giveaways. Food and alcohol will be available for purchase too. Dog rescue adoption will be available and proceeds from the event will go to local animal rescues.
