Scottsdale Giant Race goes online
Alaska Airlines is sponsoring this year’s 8th annual Scottsdale Giant Race toward the end of this month. This will be a virtual event.
To show support for Giants Spring Training and baseball in general, runners, joggers and walkers will be heading out for runs through Scottsdale. Since the race will be virtual this year, participants may choose their own locations and times and submit results by March 27.
Participants may sign up for either the 5K or 10K, will each run costing $40 to register. Swag will include a commemorative race bib; a 2021 orange, black and white baseball-shaped finisher’s medal; and a limited-edition visor sporting this year’s logo design. All items will be shipped to registrants’ homes.
Those runners who sign up for the 2021 Series Sweep, which consists of running upcoming virtual races in Sacramento (April 24), San Jose (July 17), and San Francisco (September 12) in addition to the Scottsdale run will receive limited-edition black backpacks labeled with this year’s white 2021 Series Sweep logo design.
Giant Race Scottsdale and the races in the other three California cities are part of the Giant Race 2021 RUN Monthly virtual Fitness Series. Every month, Scottsdale fitness enthusiasts can commit to a running event full of challenges with fun themes and “cool” swag.
Challenge Pins, each sporting a colorful graphic design associated with the month’s theme, are sent out each month. Registration can be done at any time during the year.
