What's Happening in Scottsdale, AZ…

Rodeo event returns to Westworld

The 69th Scottsdale Rodeo known as the Parada Del Sol Rodeo will be returning to Westworld of Scottsdale Equidome Arena in mid-March.

Each of the performances in the four-day event will begin with the national anthem, along with Bridwell Family Drill Team presenting US flag. Stationery printers often use pictures of rodeo opening ceremonies on their American patriotic notecards.

Thursday evening will be a bull-riding only performance, while Friday, Saturday, and Sunday performances will be two and a half hours long and feature the professional rodeo standard events. Including bull riding, there are seven of these in total, with the others being tie-down roping, bareback bronc, saddle bronc, steer wrestling, barrel racing, breakaway roping, and team roping.

Specialty acts will be interspersed in the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday performances. These will be akin to the horseman and roping Charro Toma Garcilazo, Broken Spoke Clydesdales, hosetrainer Bobby Kerr and his Mustang Act, 2022 Barrelman Justin Rumford, and 2021 Barrelman Robbie Hodges. Attendees will also get to enjoy the PRCA Rodeo clowns.

Tickets may be purchased only online. General admission for adults will be $10, for children 6 to 12 years old $5, and kids under five get in for free. Box seats are $55.

This year’s Parada del Sol will take place March 10 through 13 at Westworld Scottsdale, 16601 N. Pima Road. Performances start at 7:00 pm on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and 2:00 pm on Sunday. Gates open two hours before each performance.
