Pumpkins the theme of Scottsdale Halloween
Pumpkin festivals will be in the area this season, pleasing those for whom the orange fruit, commonly mistaken for a vegetable, is the highlight of this ghoulish time of year.
Schinepf Farms is holding its Pumpkin and Chili Festival on weekends. Guests can enjoy hayrides, bonfires, and four-acre and ten-acre corn mazes. It will also have fireworks, a Pumpkin Launch, and Hillbilly Bob’s Pig Races. Pumpkins and chili dinners will be available for purchase.
Carefree Desert Gardens will be presenting its annual Enchanted Pumpkin Garden. Ray Villafane has created his famous pumpkin creations, including scarecrows. The garden will have a photo op with the 400lb ‘King of Carefree’ pumpkin. These pictures may make interesting subjects for calendars, or Halloween holiday cards.
The Great Pumpkin Festival will be at the Desert Botanical Garden. Everyone will be invited to dance to live music. There will be a hayride, hay bale maze, carnival games, farm animals, and pumpkin decorating.
