Festival commemorates International Jazz Day

Paying homage to the 11th Annual International Jazz Day, Scottsdale Jazz Festival will be coming at the end of April. The theme for this year is “Jazz Around the World.”

The venue will feature three outdoor stages and a large dance floor. Carefully selected regional and world food vendors will be selling cuisine from countries around the world, including Japan, New Orleans, London, and Italy.

The line-up for Saturday will be Molina’s 32nd Street Allstars from 2:15 to 3:15 pm, Mario Abney from 3:30 to 4:45 pm, Donald Harrison from 5:00 to 6:00 pm, and Jazz, Funk, Soul from 8:00 to 9:45 pm.

Sunday’s performances will be Neamin Lyles from 2:15 to 3:15 pm, Ken Koshio & Fred Boswell Jr. from 3:30 to 4:45 pm, Yuko Mabuchi from 5:00 to 6:00 pm, and the event's headliner British Acid Jazz Band, Incognito, from 8:00 to 9:45 pm.

Daily general admission tickets cost $50 and holders will need to bring their own chairs and blankets. Other single-day tickets range from $75 up to $3,000 for tables for 10. Proceeds will go to after-school programs at the Molina School of Jazz and to NextStudent Academy.

Scottsdale Jazz Festival will take place April 29 and 30 from 2:00 to 10:00 pm at Scottsdale Civic Center Park. Attendees at events such as this often search the venue for T-shirts featuring the event’s graphic design.
