Downtown Scottsdale readies for 64th Parada del Sol Parade and Trails End Festival

The 64th Annual Parada del Sol Historic Parade and Trail’s End Festival will be coming to Downtown Scottsdale in February. This will be a community celebration that usually brings over 30,000 people together for a day of old West entertainment.

The parade will start celebrations in the morning. School bands from local high schools, elementary and colleges and musical marching and dance groups will be providing the music. Non-musical marching groups like the youth groups, Girl/Boy Scouts and honor and color guards will be strutting behind introduction banners. Commercial and non- commercial floats will also be cruising down the route. There will be authentic Western vehicles, mounted Western Groups. Tractors and motorized vehicles from 1950 and older will also be part of this year’s parade. In all there will be about 150 entries.

The Trail’s End Festival will begin after the parade. It will have a Kid’s Area with pony rides and games. Freckle Farms is bringing a Petting Zoo. Scottsdale Fit will be holding a Cornhole Tournament.

Eight acts will entertain the crowd during the festival. Some of these will be Chad Freeman Redline, Desert Dixie, the Pima Rock Band, Whiskey Kiss, the Three Mariachi’s and Johnny Hotshot.

The parade will start at 10 am, and the festival will run from noon until 5 pm on February 11th in Downtown Scottsdale.
