What's Happening in Scottsdale, AZ…

Chance to celebrate the butterflies this holiday weekend

Scottsdale locals are in for a treat this Memorial Day weekend, as Butterfly Wonderland will be open and celebrating the second anniversary of its birth over the three-day weekend. Families are invited to enjoy the butterflies and take part in the celebrations.

Butterfly Wonderland is the largest butterfly pavilion in the U.S. and one of the newest attractions in the Valley. The rainforest like conditions inside the pavilion provide the perfect environment for many species of brilliantly colored butterflies.

Activities for the celebration will include live music provided by Anthony Wakeman, a Native American Flautist. There will also be a climbing wall and a host of activities for the kids, such as games, storytelling, and a bouncy house. There will also be face painting and an appearance by Butterfly Princess Persephone Dimson.

Adrianne Bridgewater will be performing on her harp and Lee Perreira will offer tunes on his guitar. There will also be food provided by Valley food trucks. The day should provide a great opportunity for picture taking for later use in postcard printing.

The celebration will take place Saturday, Sunday and Monday, May 23, 24, and 25 at Butterfly Wonderland, 9500 East Via de Ventura Scottsdale, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm each day. General Admission prices apply, and they are $19.95 for adults and $12.95 for kids 3 to 11, and $17.95 for students.
