What's Happening in Scottsdale, AZ…

Canal Convergence returns for the 10th time

Canal Convergence, an event that melds water, art, and light into a 14-day public art event, will be taking place here in Scottsdale during the first couple of weeks of November.

This year, the sustainable and interactive event’s theme is Celebrating 10 Years of Water + Art + Light.

Each artist both new (AlexP, Josh Miller, Pneuhaus and Bike Powered Events), and past (BIG ART, Walter Productions, Jeff Zischke) has been asked to choose from the former featured themes such as “The Story of Water,” “Reconnect,” and “Art and Technology” for their displays.

Along with the light-based public artwork, the event will offer workshops, music, dance performances, and food.

Families at events such as this often take family photos that go to local print shops to become part of family yearly calendars.

As part of the event, One Water Brewing Showcase will once again be presenting local breweries that use only ultra-purified recycled water. Nine breweries will be serving craft beers. One Water Brewing showcase will take place from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm on the first two evenings of Canal Convergence.

Canal Convergence will take place on the Scottsdale Waterfront, along the bridges, and pedestrian pathways from Goldwater Boulevard to Scottsdale Road and above and in the Arizona Canal. It runs from Friday, November 4 to Sunday, November 13, starting at 6:00 pm every day and finishing at 10:00 pm Fridays and Saturdays, and 9:00 pm on other days.
