Arizona Reining Horse Association presents equine show
Mother’s Day Slide, the AZ Reining Horse Show will be coming to the area in a few days.
It will be a NRHA Regional Affiliate Qualifiers #2 and #3 event. Judging will be based on degree of difficulty, finesse, and ease in completing one of ten approved patterns.
Patterns will include 360 spins in place, flying lead changes, large and small circles at different speeds, and sliding stops. The judges for this show will be Steve Ross and Ann Salmon, and it will offer $8,000 in added money and prizes donated from local jewelry and clothing stores and hotels.
As poster printing will no doubt highlight, classes will include the Green Reiner, and non-NRHA classes feature the likes of Future Reiners, Arabian, AZRHA Ranch Pleasure, AZRHA Ladies and Gents Classes, AARHA Kyle Wood Unrestricted Youth, and a RHSF Ride for Bruzzy Cooke. This last class will be a fundraiser that will have 100% of the proceeds going to The Reining Horse Sports Foundation. On Move-in Day, general riding will be seven-minute paid warmups starting at noon.
Those who love horses will want to set time aside from May 17 to May 20. The event will be at WestWorld of Scottsdale, 16601 N. Pima Road, Scottsdale. Start times for May 18, 19, and 20 will be 8:00 am. On Wednesday, May 17, Arena 3 will open at noon for general riding.
