Two fundraising events scheduled for a September Sunday
Audrey's Cancer Benefit will take place in mid-September, and Hope and Heaven will be a fundraising gala for a safe shelter here in Mesa on the same day.
Hope and Heaven will be a fundraiser for a cultural-specific women's shelter, refugee, and free health clinic.
The special guest for the evening will be African American Imam Sjoraj Wajaj, the leader of the Muslim Alliance in North America and leader of Brooklyn's anti-drug campaign. Also there will be African American comedian, writer, and lecturer Preacher Moss, part of the comedy trio that made up the Allah Made Me Funny comedy tour.
Tickets are $30 for adults, $15 for children up to 16 years old, and $20 for students 17 years old and older. Tickets for tables that accommodate up to 10 people will be available for $250. Family tickets for $100 will include admission for up to three children and two adults.
Supporters for fundraisers like this occasionally arrange flyer printing and place flyers around their neighborhoods and offices.
The fundraising gala will take place Sunday, September 15 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Pearl Banquet Hall, 1455 S Stapley Drive, Suite 12.
On the same day, Audrey's Cancer Benefit will have food, music, raffles, and an auction. Mainstreet Motorcycles has donated a motorcycle, and Roosters has donated a bike for the raffles. Tickets are still available at the two stores at the time of writing.
Audrey's Cancer Benefit will take place Sunday, September 15 beginning at noon at Roosters, 3731 E. Main Street.
