Mesa goes to Ostrich festival
Many here in Mesa will be heading over to the 34th annual Chandler Chamber Ostrich Festival coming in mid-March.
The organizers of the six-day event (across two weekends) promise food, music, rides and fun with a nod to the city's history of ostrich ranching.
Although there will be no ostrich races this year, there will be ostriches roaming around in a designated space.
Stationery printers often use pictures of ostriches for their Australian-themed cards.
The lineup on the Main Stage for weekend 1 will include Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers on Friday, The Fray on Saturday, and Breland on Sunday. The second weekend will have Los Rieleros on Friday, Natasha Bedingfield on Saturday and Tyler Hubbard on Sunday.
Tickets for each night are $25 for adults, $25 for children ages 5 through 12 and $100 for VIP admission.
Ride tickets are $1 each and rides may cost between three to ten tickets. Unlimited ride wristbands will be available.
Food and snacks such as cookies, pretzels, pizza and Kona Ice will be available for purchase.
This year's attractions will run along the same vein as last year's which included stunt shows, acrobats, bubble artists, energetic drum lines, science through comedy and experiments, dog shows, and pig races. Kids enjoyed interactive STEAM exhibits and a bounce around Kids Zone.
The 34th annual Chandler Chamber Ostrich Festival will take place March 14th through the 16th and March 21st through the 23rd at 2250 S. McQueen, Chandler.
