Chandler’s Hamilton Library is hosting a workshop to create landscape designs that conserve water.
Instructor Noelle Johnson, known as the Arizona Plant Lady, will guide participants through shaping yard spaces to be tolerant of drought environments, saving on water in the process.
Johnson, a landscape design professional and horticulturalist, will also reveal ways to beautify those lawn replacements, with less maintenance needed compared to a traditional yard. Tips on beautifying outdoor spaces will also be part of the programming.
Low-water landscapes that do away with the typical grass lawn are known as xeriscape gardens, a practice of landscaping designed to completely eliminate or greatly reduce the need for irrigation. To this end, specific plants that don’t require much water must be chosen. Participants will also be guided through other key principles and philosophies of xeriscaping.
In addition to landscape consulting, Johnson is also a garden writer and focuses on educating people on creating outdoor spaces that can thrive in dry, hot environments. Her expertise offers much more than only rocks or cactus for such designs, with more lush and colorful plant options also functional for such purposes.
Landscaping workshops like this may choose to use Stationery printing to create step-by-step instructions, garden Blueprints, and supply lists.
The Water-Wise Workshop: Landscape Design event is happening on September 1 from 6 pm to 7:30 pm in the Program Room Combined at the Hamilton Library at 3700 S Arizona Ave in Chandler.Get a Free Quote for Stationery Get a Free Quote for Blueprints
