The third annual Indian Frybread and Arts Festival is returning to Chandler’s Rawhide Event Center this fall.
Underneath the glow of neon-lit carnival rides, a colorful array of costumes and traditional dress will take the stage for multiple dance groups and live musical performances by Stella Standingbear and One Way Sky as the smell of frybread fills the air throughout the afternoon and evening on the third Saturday in November.
Food will also be a focus of the event, as well as art, children’s activities and celebrating Native culture in general.
The frybread competition sees the best chefs in the field aiming for the perfect mix of flavors, both modern and traditional, for the chance to win prizes and bragging rights.
The family-friendly event includes inflatable attractions and arts and crafts for children.
Taking place at the Raw Hide Event Center’s 175,000 square feet Sonoran Lawn, the frybread festival can accommodate large groups, with open spaces for dining and recreating.
Tickets range from $25-$30, with higher-priced VIP packages available. While children ages 12 and under are free when they attend with an adult, carnival rides are sold separately.
