Country star to visit Chandler

An award-winning country singer/songwriter will help usher in the new year in Chandler.

Rodney Atkins hails from Knoxville, Tennessee, and released his first single, “In a Heartbeat,” in 1997. However, it was not until 2003 that he released his debut album, “Honesty.” One of the tracks, “Honesty (Write Me a List)” went to No. 4 on the charts.

His second album, “If You're Going Through Hell,” dropped in 2006, and the first two singles from it each stayed at the top spot of the country music chart for four weeks. In addition, “If You're Going Through Hell” was named as the top country song of 2006 by Billboard Year-End, and “Watching You” received the same honor in 2007. The album was eventually certified Platinum.

Atkins has continued his winning streak, sending several more singles to the top of the charts, and winning numerous nominations, including two from the Country Music Association and six by the Academy of Country Music, which named him “Top New Male Vocalist” in 2006.

A convert says:

“I honestly went just because my husband wanted to go. I am so glad I did!!! It was amazing he was awesome . . . I am now a huge fan. I would definitely go again.”

Rodney Atkins will appear at the Gila River Hotels & Casinos-Wild Horse Pass in Chandler on January 22, 2021, at 8:00 pm. Poster printing can be an effective means of advertising an event like this.
