For those who like the idea of preparing professional-quality chocolates in the home kitchen, a Chandler workshop will help point the way next month.
Those who would like to learn how to work with chocolate on their own are welcome to sign up for Desert Sage Herb’s “Making Chocolate for the Home Cook” class. Everyone who participates will be invited to sample an assortment of styles of dark chocolate – a treat that, according to the event listing, can come with health benefits.
During the workshop, attendees will use the ingredients and other supplies provided to prepare their chocolate. Tickets are available in advance or at the door, and the early birds who reserve their seat well ahead of the event will be offered a discount off the registration fee. The presenter for the activity will be Vicki Greener, who has an extensive knowledge of aromatics.
When they go home, each learner in the class will receive a selection of handouts allowing them to get started right away at crafting homemade chocolates. Stationery printers can be called upon to prepare an assortment of learning materials for a hands-on class.
Desert Sage Herbs will be sharing secrets of making tasty chocolate at home on April 9. Everyone who registers is asked to be on site by no later than 1:30 pm.
