Chandler workshop to get wise with water

Harvesting rainwater can be an easy way to offer Mother Nature a helping hand, and Chandler workshop will see a group of residents create their very own catchment systems.

The city has organized a session that will teach how to craft rainwater harvesting basins. Free to take part in, it will be a hands-on activity, and the materials and tools needed will be provided.

The activity will teach those who take part the importance of being water-wise and how utilizing rainfall is one way of achieving this. The use of swales will be introduced, and everyone will be able to find out how this can also lower their water costs. The class will take place outdoors, and the learners are reminded to wear closed-toed shoes, sunscreen, and a hat. The connect number for the organizer is 480-782-3811.

There are several ways people can be kind to the environment, and they can be as straightforward as attending a workshop that provides an opportunity for the public to learn about a topic. Handouts and other learning materials can be supplied by a local printing services company.

The city of Chandler will be exploring the value of swales and rainwater basins on Sunday, April 7. It will be on offer at the Chandler Nature Center located at 4050 East Chandler Heights Road.
