Chandler rolls into spring on bikes
This spring, the Chandler community will once again have the opportunity to participate in the annual Family Bike Ride event.
The 7.8-mile ride will be guided by the Chandler Police Bike Team. The route starts at the Chandler Park and Ride and travels north along Paseo Canal to Tibshraeny Park, then returns to its starting point. Kona Ice will be offered as a free refreshment after the ride concludes so riders can cool down and celebrate.
There will also be a number of other activities as part of the event, including vendor booths about the fun of cycling and how to do it safely. There will even be a bike decorating station where participants can customize their gear, including helmets. Participants will receive information on bike safety, transit services, and free T-shirts while supplies last.
Chandler Mayor Kevin Hartke will also be part of the ride, joining in on the event meant for cyclists of all skill levels and age groups. Community bike events like these may want to use banner printing to mark the start and finish lines.
The 17th Annual Chandler Family Bike Ride is happening on Saturday, April 5 at the Chandler Park and Ride at Hamilton Street and Germann Road. The activities and vendor booths open at 7:30 am and the guided ride begins at 8:30 am. The event is free.
