Chandler asked to help keep food bank shelves full

The Foothills Food Bank provides nutritional support for individuals and families in need, and Chandler residents have been asked to join their neighbors in support of a local donation drive.

The organization has put out a call to area communities asking people to make a generous contribution to help keep its shelves full. Pet food and other supplies are also needed, so everyone is reminded to not forget the furry friends.

To help the public choose items to contribute, a list has been prepared of the items needed the most. Non-perishable foodstuffs such as crackers, peanut butter, jam, pasta sauce, canned vegetables, ramen noodle packs, rice, and wet or dry cat and dog food are all included, and monetary donations will also be appreciated. The food drive will be running throughout July and August, and it will be distributed to those in need, with no proof of citizenship or income level required.

Donation drives can help a not-for-profit to meet its financial needs and also raise community awareness. Event organizers that work with Print shops can count on being able to utilize the high-quality poster printing and other services at area printers.

Foothills Food Bank will be running its Summer Food drive from July 1 until August 31. Anyone who has a contribution to drop off can do so at the Desert Camp Community Center.
