Young Arizonans offered week of musical education

On Monday, July 16 through Friday, July 20, Musical Theatre Camp will be held at the BlackBox Theatre located at 1330 E. Florence Blvd. in Casa Grande, Arizona. This event will take place between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm each day.

During this workshop-type event, which is designed for youths between the ages of 13 and 18, students will work, both as soloists and with partners, to put together short musical theatre skits. The youths will learn quite a bit about creating music, songs, and dance numbers, as well as theatrical expressions. A performance will be held on July 20 to showcase the work created by the soloists and the groups over the course of the week. This camp is designed to bring out the creative expression found in today’s youth and will be an exceptional learning experience for all.

This Musical Theatre Camp is just one of the many summer programs run by the BlackBox Theatre for kids and young people every summer. With seating for 90 patrons and approximately 2,000 square feet at its disposal, this is a great facility to learn the craft. BlackBox Production LLX was created in 2010 as an educational facility and a local production company. It is a wheelchair accessible facility encompassing all the creative performing arts in one complex, offering plenty of free parking.

Poster printing and flyer printing may have been used to promote this program to the youth in the area. The cost to attend is $50 per student. For additional information, please visit BlackBox Theatre’s website.
