A guitarist who Eric Clapton himself called one of the best is on the way to Casa Grande.
Guitarist Magazine rated Carvin Jones one of its top 50 guitarists, and he is bringing the Ultimate Guitar Experience to Casa Grande. A native of Texas, Jones fell in love with the blues as a child, thanks to the fact that his grandfather played BB King records constantly.
By the time he was 11, his grandmother had already bought him his first guitar. As he recalls the story, she did so because he was always borrowing other people's instruments, and then getting bummed out when he had to return them. He credits the guitar with keeping him away from the rougher elements of his town and out of trouble, since he stayed indoors practicing.
Shortly after graduating from high school, Jones began playing gigs at small venues in Texas, and finally moved to Phoenix, where his career really took off. He and his band have now played over 30 countries, pleasing both fans and critics; they average 330 shows annually.
