Upgraded park opens in Casa Grande
After months of work, upgrades to a Casa Grande park were recently opened to the public.
The Carr McNatt Park, which is at Brown Avenue and McMurray Boulevard, now has new basketball and tennis courts, new lawns, a splash pad, and a shaded playground. PinalCentral.com reports that children laughed and squealed when the splash pad water was turned on, marking the first time they have been able to play in the water feature. Even though the day was cloudy and rainy, the new features still went down well.
The splash pad seemed to be the most popular feature, though many children were also enjoying the new playground equipment, which includes a play structure and a merry-go-round. The playground is covered with a soft covering that feels like rubber, where some kids did cartwheels. Others played basketball on the new courts, while one group took to the new grass to play football.
In addition to the new courts, splash pad, and playground, restrooms and walking paths have been added, and the lighting has been improved. Casa Grande's mayor, Craig McFarland, said people couldn't wait to use the park, and started exploring as soon as the construction fences came down.
Flyer printing can be used to publicize the opening of facilities like this, perhaps using bright colours and lively fonts to attract the attention of kids.
