A new race track is planned for Pinal County, just south of Casa Grande. According to Darrick Builders, they plan to develop Attesa Motorsports Complex, an installation that will feature a karting track, an event center, multi-surface racing, and two different 2.8 mile courses.
In addition to the opportunities for racing of various kinds, a private airport, featuring a 6,000-foot runway, has also been designed. A convention center, hotel, and entertainment area with shopping and dining are also in the works. The site is about seven miles from downtown Casa Grande, between Montgomery and Bianco Roads.
Darrick Builders' principal, Dan Erickson, said the complex cannot be compared to anything else in the country, but insists everyone is welcome to join the fun. He says the complex will combine luxury with speed and opportunities for everyone to take part in motorsports.
The two planned race tracks have been designed to meet international FIM and FIA certifications, meaning that major auto racing events could be held in Casa Grande.
Darrick expects the county to give its final approval to the plans by the end of 2016. They will then break ground some time in 2017, and are shooting for an opening date in 2020.
