Race scheduled for Casa Grande

An event has been scheduled in support of Casa Grande’s Seeds of Hope, and everyone is invited.

The 5K and 1K Run/Walk for Hope is designed to get the new year off to a good start, by encouraging people to adopt a healthier lifestyle. Family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers can all join in the event, which helps support the programs available at Seeds of Hope. The organization hopes to improve people’s lives by building relationships within the community. Among its programs are Jobs for Life, an Afterschool Program, Hot Lunch for the Hungry, and Los Angeles de Esperanza. It also maintains a community garden, and offers a wellness clinic.

Adult registration fees are $35 for the 5K, and $25 for the 1K, while young people 16 years of age and under will be asked to pay $10 for the 5K, and $5 for the 1K. Prices for younger participants never change. All participants will be given a swag bag, runner’s breakfast, timing bib, race medal, and dry-fit shirts. Registration can be arranged online.

The race takes place at Dave White Park on January 11, from 9:00 am until 11:30 am. The event is both stroller- and pet-friendly, so participants and onlookers are welcome to bring their children, both human and fur-covered, though the furry friends must be on a leash. Banner printing can be used to create festive decorations for events like this, which also help mark the course.
