New superintendent in Casa Grande district

Dr. Steve Bebee, who is currently the principal of the Cactus Shadows High School, will take over soon as superintendent of the Casa Grande Union High School District.

Debbie Burdick, the superintendent of the Cave Creek Unified School District, said a search for Dr. Bebee's replacement has already started.

In 2017, Cave Creek USD honored Dr. Bebee as part of National Principals Month. He served as principal of Cactus Shadows for nine years, and has worked in the educational field for 22 years. He has taught in the classroom, and then risen to administrative levels, where he has worked successfully to build partnerships throughout the community to help meet students' needs. Dr. Bebee has degrees from Grand Canyon University, Northern Arizona University, and Yavapai College.

Burdick said the district wanted to be proactive in hiring Dr. Bebee's replacement, so it placed ads as soon as Casa Grande made its offer. The district has completed a series of initial interviews handled by a panel of administrators, teachers, and parents, and has second interviews scheduled. However, it will not make a final decision, or offer the position to anyone, until Dr. Bebee leaves Cactus Shadows.

Dr. Bebee was officially named superintendent earlier, and signed a contract with the district. Matters like this are important to an entire community, so officials might work with a flyer printing company on an update letter for residents.
