What's Happening in Casa Grande, AZ…

City shapes up for the 4th

Casa Grande is encouraging residents to have a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July celebration, and has planned festivities the whole family can enjoy.

According to a brief announcement on the city's website, the city hopes to provide old-fashioned fun for all, with hamburgers, hot dogs, and barbeque available during the day, lots of fun at the pool, and music and fireworks at night.

The fun kicks off at the Palm Island Family Aquatics Park at 10:00 am. From then until 2:00 pm, the pool will be open for a ‘Family Swim Day’, with admission lowered to $1 (adults) and 50¢ (children 17 and younger). Games and activities will be held at the pool during Open Swim times, and drinks and food will be available at the concession stand.

The fun keeps going at 7:00 pm at the Ed Hooper Rodeo Park/Paul Mason Sportsplex, with entertainment, relay races, contests, food, and free watermelon for all. Visitors will need to supply their own blankets or chairs, and are encouraged to arrive when the event opens at 6.30 pm. The fireworks that will cap the day's festivities begin at 9:00 pm.

Casa Grande officials have no doubt considered working with a flyer printing company to create a handout for residents who come to the pool and park, so they know the schedule of events.
