Casa Grande set for Winter Wonderland

Casa Grande is getting ready to light up the desert with its holiday activities, and everyone is invited.

The city's Parks and Recreation Department has been going all out for over 20 years to welcome the holidays, and is getting ready to do so again, with both the Winter Wonderland event, and the Electric Light Parade on the way.

Both events are family friendly. Visitors to the Winter Wonderland can go skating on the ice rink set up downtown, take pictures with Santa Claus himself, enjoy holiday crafts, try their hand at game booths, sing carols, enjoy live entertainment, and grab a snack from a food truck. Winter Wonderland will be set up at Florence Street and 4th Street.

Later that day, the most popular event in the city, as well as the largest, will take place—the Electric Light Parade. The parade starts at Colorado Street, then goes west on Florence Boulevard until it reaches Florence Street. There will be more than 90 floats, all illuminated with thousands of lights, taking part.

The day ends with the formal tree lighting ceremony, which will take place in front of the Casa Grande City Hall.

The Winter Wonderland is set to begin at 2:00 pm on December 7. The Electric Light Parade will follow, beginning at 5:45 pm, and the tree lighting, which is set for 6:00 pm, ends the celebration. Banner printing can be used to create beautiful decorations for events like this.
