The owners of Casa Grande restaurant Big House Café, Michael and Elia Brinkin, are revamping the location and aiming to have renovations completed by the time the annual Taste of Casa Grande rolls around in October.
The establishment started small, with perhaps 40 seats, but has gradually taken over almost the entire building in which it is located. The Brinkins are renovating the spaces they have just acquired, and will soon expand their business.
One room can be used for meetings, and that location leads to a shady patio where a misting system keeps diners cool in the blazing Arizona temperatures. The addition of the patio and meeting room has more than tripled the restaurant's space.
Part of the new space will be devoted to the couple's catering business, which Elia runs. The space will feature a separate entrance from the restaurant, a waiting room, Elia's office, and a consulting room. The Brinkins also plan to open an old-world-type bakery that will provide fresh-baked goods for the restaurant and for walk-in customers as well.
Their most ambitious plan might be for their roof-top fresh herb garden, which will provide dining and scenic view opportunities, as well as fresh herbs for Michael, who is also the chef.
The Brinkins could work with a banner printing company to create an item to decorate the door when they open the renovated cafe.
