Casa Grande fundraises for animal shelter

The Dogs, Cats and Cowboy Hats fundraiser is returning for its third annual event at Iron City Polaris in Casa Grande, with proceeds benefiting a local animal shelter.

The fundraising event is organized by the non-profit organization Girl with a Black Dog. Owner Michelle Pooler sells clothing to help benefit local shelters.

The annual Dogs, Cats and Cowboy Hats fundraiser benefits the Pinal County Animal Care and Control. The first event was held in 2022 and the second one was held in 2023. Each year, hundreds of people attended to raise thousands of dollars for the shelter.

The fundraiser includes entertainment, drinks, barbeque, a silent auction, raffles and more. During the second event in 2023, country music artist Josh Scott and singer Kirk Russell performed.

Fundraising events like these will often look to flyer printing for promotion and brochure printing for programs.

Pooler, the organizer of the fundraiser, started her non-profit Girl With a Black Dog after losing her own dog, Tatum, in March of 2020. To deal with the grief, she volunteered at shelters. Seeing the need shelters have, she decided to sell pet-themed shirts to raise money for them. Pooler has been an advocate for homeless pets ever since.

The Dogs, Cats and Cowboy Hats fundraiser is happening on February 1 at 5 p.m. at Iron City Polaris on 1867 N. Pinal Ave. in Casa Grande.
