Casa Grande accepts applications for annual Light Parade

The city of Casa Grande will be welcoming the arrival of the holiday season with a light-filled parade that will wind its way through the community.

The annual Electric Light Parade, which will follow a route along Florence Boulevard, will have a staging area for the floats and other entries that will be set up at Pottebaum and Florence Boulevard. Community groups, businesses, and organizations that would like to get involved will need to submit an application ahead of time - the final date to do so is Friday, November 12 at 5:00 pm.

The parade will be taking place thanks to the efforts of several city departments, as well as its sponsors. When planning their entry, applicants are asked to keep in mind that while there is no limit to length, they must be able to get around the corner of Florence and Second Street. There will be awards presented to the top submissions, including a People's Choice award, and questions about the activity can be directed to CommunityServices@casagrandeaz.gov.

Anyone who adds a float or other entry to the procession will be able to hand out candy or small Promotional Products to the crowd. These may not be tossed from the floats, and must be handed out in person.

This popular kick-off to the winter holidays will be lighting up the night on December 4. The goal is for it to become the largest function of its kind to take place in the state.
