A regeneration proposal in Coatbridge is taking shape.
The regeneration scheme in question will involve converting some of Coatbridge’s municipal properties into housing. It should lead to the production of 49 homes, and about £11 million will be used to finance the project.
Impressions by an artist have already been used to demonstrate what the new accommodation is going to look like. A committee of North Lanarkshire Council has been involved in the regeneration process, and has tried to cut its costs by reducing its office space. A team of designers is going to make further progress on the details of the Plans. Graphic design is essential in the planning sector, particularly when members of the public have to be informed about an initiative.
When it comes to the overall aim of the plan, committee papers do clarify what is at stake. The primary goal of the policy is to deliver affordable housing. This change of land use involves the retention of a listed building. At the same time, 10 townhouses are going to be built from scratch, and the new residences will all have gardens.
It has been suggested that the residential building will eventually be used by tenants. The departure of all the employees from the site is not envisaged to be quickly arranged.
It could be 2022 before all the housing is completed and ready to be rented.
