Exciting ideas for the expansion of a museum in Coatbridge have been unveiled by North Lanarkshire Council.
The local authority has published a planning application concerning the Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life. Its Plans include both improvements to the museum building and an expansion of the site that would see several new structures built. One of the most important parts of the application would see the miner’s village at the museum enhanced to enable a more thorough exploration of Scottish mining history and a more immersive experience for visitors.
This exhibit is among the most beloved at the museum, so the Plans could be beneficial in terms of visitor numbers. Other sections of the application state that a community venue, garage and additional cottages would be built at the museum site.
Coatbridge tourist attractions often make use of local Print shops that can supply promotional Pens. These can be designed with the name and logo of the attraction on them and sold in the gift shops.
Among the changes that would be made to the miner’s village are the construction of a Miner’s Welfare Hall and a street scene appropriate to the time period. Elsewhere, the Ironworks Building would be given new doors and windows.
There would also be something referred to as a ‘learning landscape’ created within the grounds, to help visitors find their way around the museum.Get a Free Quote for Print Get a Free Quote for Pens Get a Free Quote for Plans
