A company based in Coatbridge is in the running for a prestigious business award, having made it onto the final shortlist.
KRG Specialist Engineering is a fixture in the town, having been around since the late 1970s. The founder of the company is James Hughes, and it started life as a small family firm, with KRG being his son’s initials. It has come a long way since those days though, and is considered to be one of the top precision engineering companies in Scotland. Now, it is in the running for a gong at this year’s Glasgow Business Awards.
The category that it has been nominated in is ‘Inspiring Future Talent’ and it is one of the final few firms in contention. This nomination is in recognition of the commitment that KRG has to training young people in the local area. In the decades since its launch, the company has taken on over 100 of them for apprenticeships.
