This conversion involves the structure in Kildonan Street that used to be the town’s Municipal Buildings. It has been empty for the past four years, but is a Grade B listed building and a prominent historic landmark. This meant that any Plans to bring it back into use had to be carefully considered, but proposals to convert it into affordable housing got the go ahead from North Lanarkshire Council.
When this conversion has been completed, the new housing will be owned by the local authority. The project will see the building undergo restoration works as well as transformation into modern homes. It is one part of a wider scheme to regenerate the centre of Coatbridge.
Organisations like the council sometimes make use of Coatbridge Print outlets that can create Letterheads. These help to ensure that all letters carry the official Logo Design and name of the organisation.
Michael McPake is the housing convener for North Lanarkshire Council. Speaking to the Glasgow Times, he said:
“The 43 new council homes will provide good-quality, affordable places to live, while the work on this important historic building will help breathe new life into a key part of the town centre.”
